League leaders Bernie’s Bolts suffered a surprise defeat against The Borough in the latest round of Redditch Skittles League matches. Bernie’s Bolts twice led in the game and held a seven-pin advantage heading into the final leg only for a poor final leg score to allow the Borough to claim victory, requiring only 43 points to take the win. The Borough’s Steve Court (37), Jack Court and Scott Fee (both 34) top scored for the victors while Andy Gill-Smith (35), Mark West (34) and Paul Blayney (32, 11 stack) impressed for Bernie’s Bolts.
Lodge Farmers took a nine-pin lead against Nomads after three legs before a big fourth leg score of 75 all but sealed the win.And with Nomads only able to score 49 in reply, Farmers cruised to a comfortable victory as Frank Morris (42, 13 stack), Rachel Morris (38) and Jamie McGill and Glyn Morley (both 35) top scored for the winners. For Nomads, Jordan Bunn (39, 13 stack), Alan Cummings (35) and Mac Eaton (34) all impressed.
Engineers eased to a routine win against Jumbo Jet Set with the latter side only able to come away with a consolation point.For Engineers, Jo Kelso (43, 13 stack), Andy Clewlow (38) and Brandon Kelso (37) top scored while for Jumbo Jet Set Len Quartly (38), Mick Stanton (35) and Ray Jones (34) impressed.
