Awards & Presentation Evening (22/23)

The Presentation Night for season 2022/2023 took place this evening with league members taking part in a fun skittles evening (with a cash prize!) and congratulating the award winners on their trophies for the past season.

Thanks to everyone who attended and congratulations to those who won trophies.

Awards & Presentation Evening

The last event of the 23/24 season will be an Awards & Presentation evening on Tuesday 16th July at Redditch Borough Social Club at 8pm.  The evening will comprise a fun night of skittles with cash prizes for winning teams and a raffle.  The trophies for the leading teams and players from the season 22/23 will also be awarded.

We hope to make it a fun evening for all and recognise and congratulate the leading teams and players from the earlier season. We hope that many of your teams and friends will come along – all are welcome.

Engineers Win The League

All rescheduled games are now complete and that’s it for the 23/24 league season. Eighteen games played and the Engineers claim the league title for a 10th(!) time, congratulations to them!

Commiserations to Lodge Farmers who led for much of the season but again finished in a close second place, just 4 points behind the winners.

In the individual season awards Mark “Goose” Ganderton claims the Highest Aggregate Pins award with 636 pins.  He also wins the mens’ “Best 12” Average award with an average of 38.33.  Angela Guest claims the ladies’ “Best 12” Average award with an average of 35.75.  Congratulations to both!  The full standings can be viewed from the Statistics pages above.

That concludes the 23/24 leagueseason and now attention turns to the Summer Cup.  Captains have been contacted by the League Secretary to make arrangements.  Details and fixtures will be posted here once agreed by the team captains.  For those that are interested the A.G.M. is due to be held on Wednesday 12th June.  Again, captains have been contacted by the League Secretary.

The Awards night for the two seasons effected by Covid took place this week.  It was a fun and eventful evening where league members congratulated the winners and awarded their trophies, played a novelty triples competition and raised some money for charity.

Many thanks to all who attended for your support and generosity; we raised almost £200 for Teenage Cancer Trust!

We hope to make it a fun evening for all, recognise and congratulate the leading teams and players from the two earlier seasons and hope to make a worthwhile contribution to a local charity.  We hope that many of your teams and friends will come along.

2024 Fixtures Announced

The fixtures for the remainder of the 2023/24 season have been announced.  They include dates of league matches, the singles and triples competitions, and a summer cup.

A full fixture list containing all dates can be downloaded here.  Captains have also been emailed a copy directly to forward to their players.

Merry Christmas From The League

Following completion of the Doubles Competition the Redditch Skittles League now breaks for Christmas and New Year.

The league looks set to be close again this season with last season’s runners up, Lodge Farmers, currently top by 7.5 points.  Last season’s champions, Engineers, are second with a game in hand.

The individual awards are currently led by Scott Few (286 pins) and Angela Guest (270 pins).  The highest individual match score is currently led by Luke Sanders (48 pins).

Fixtures for the new year are set to be released in the next week and will be posted here as soon as the Fixture Secretary makes them available.  Captains shall also be notified via email.
